From the moment you book your audition to the moment you walk in the lobby. From the moment you sit down in the waiting room to the moment you walk through through the door. From the moment you start speaking to the moment you leave with your head high. 

Everyone has their own way of dealing with casting, some insist on doing it their way, some look for guidance.  Below are some tips collected from multiple actors and casting directors about what to do and what not to do.  Follow them or not, it really is up to you, but I hope you read through them and give it some thought. After all, one can learn from the mistakes of others.
