How important is working on a variety of accents?

Is it necessary to perfect them or explore them? Do actors who get casted and need a foreign accent usually know how to do them already or is it the look and talent that gets them that part?

Voice Actor’s of Reddit, tips/resources for practice/training?

A friend of mine is taking some sort of film class and has recently asked me to do some voice overs for some animated sequences that he is working on. He asked me because I have DM’d for him before and he felt like i’d enjoy doing some voice work. While that is extremely correct, I have absolutely no experience in legi…

Representation: what does it mean and why is it important?

Hello people of /r/acting! So, I want to open up a discussion about representation. Over the past 8 or 9 years, I have had a lot of reddit accounts and have always found myself coming back to and subsequently leaving this community. I think it’s important to talk about why. I know many of you will not agree with me on…

Keeping track of small business expenses for tax deductions (actor)... still necessary?

Hi! I'm curious if it's still necessary to keep track of receipts for my taxes when working as an actor in LA. Can straight actors audition for LGBT roles?

So I recently saw a casting notice for this movie and one of the roles (the one that I seem to have the best chance at) is an LGBT role. It's going to require male/male interaction. I'm straight, but I have no problem with this if the role requires it, but would it be taboo for me to apply for the role?

So I’m a working actor that’s been doing this professionally since 2018, mainly at the co-star/guest star (occasionally recurring) level.
