I realize that there are many obvious answers to this, but I really don’t see it. I’ll be the first to say I e not been doing this very long and haven’t accomplished anything of note. I have hit that point where a lot of people fall off though. I’ve done a lot of indie work and have really started to come into my own a…

Sup, Reddit. Sorry if I may come off as stupid, but I am new to the performing arts. You know when people say "follow your dreams?" Well for my entire life I would dream as myself as playing different roles in films. I would just daydream about it. Every day until now I would dismiss my dream of being an actor because…

Hey fellow actors, I have two questions in regards to submitting to talent agents via email. 1. Do I write cover letters in the body of email and then attach the suggested files (headshot, resume, reel) or is the cover letter its own pdf that we attach as well? 2. Is it okay to attach headshots and resumes or are attac…

Hi, I would definitely include myself in the category of an "unsuccessful" professional actor. I prefer the Michigan area due to location and I'm plenty involved in a lot of different live projects. Is it weird to drop in a bio that I have a paypal in the case that someone might want to support me as an artist? I like…

Non-union actor working under a SAG contract. Fitting is a few days prior to the official work day. Hair cut is likely on the same day as the fitting. Production is in a "right to work" State. Is that paid as a bump? Hourly rate? Help is appreciated.

Been wanting to dye my hair a platinum blonde color (think Pom Klementieff’s color aka Mantis from the MCU) but I’m not sure how much it will affect me getting auditions/roles. I’m Korean American and have naturally dark brown hair. I’ve had platinum blonde hair before and I loved it, but I dyed it back when I started…

Meghan has been on the successful TV show 'Suits', but she was stuck doing Hallmark TV movies too. That's still way better than not working, but you have to wonder what her agents and managers were doing. Why couldn't she levy her successful role on Suits into bigger and better roles elsewhere?

Obviously knowing the right people gets you step ahead. But if you don’t know anyone are you absolutely doomed. Because I’m pretty sure many actors knew people and had a lot of luck which is how they got to where they are now.
