Sitcom Master Class

The Sitcom Master Class is that and more. Exclusively taught by Actors Comedy Studio Founder, Gunnar Todd Rohrbacher, this on-going refinement class will challenge and educate any actor working towards a career - or with a career - in scripted comedy. There are three different class times to choose from; pick one and come once weekly. The other times are available for make ups, since we expect you to be auditioning or creating your own work. Sitcoms and Single Camera 1/2 hour comedies are making a tremendous comeback. Actors who can scale their performances to the exact tone of the show for which they're auditioning are living in a world of abundance. But it takes practice to master the technical aspects of auditioning comedy along with characterization and humor; even for veterans and young stars on the rise. Very few teachers can articulate the exact difference between auditioning for a multi-cam (live in front of a studio audience) sitcom and a single camera half-hour. Gunnar can. The distinctions are subtle and nuanced but crucial to booking. Gunnar Rohrbacher has focused solely on performing, writing, directing, producing and teaching comedy for twenty years. He uses only sides and scripts in class from the current Television season and has an encyclopedic knowledge of sitcoms past and present. He watches at least one episode of every sitcom that comes out every season. He's worked as an on-set acting coach and privately coaches actors on series lead roles regularly.
