Scene Study and Master Class

Our Signature Scene Study Class! Using the means of the Michael Chekhov Technique, we explore scenes from great playwrights such as Anton Chekhov, Tennessee Williams, William Shakespeare and some wonderful new modern playwrights at times. Our work together will culminate in "Chekhov Studio Cafe"-presentation. Actors are required to rehearse outside the class and be off book after the 1st week of receiving their text. MASTER CLASS (Marjo-Riikka Makela) In addition to the Scene Study; the Master Class is assembled periodically throughout the year for an advanced exploration of the Michael Chekhov Technique via professionally directed scene work leading to a performance. Students may be invited to audition after advancing in their Scene Study Classes. The Master Class is a professional level class and includes company members from Chekhov Studio. Once or twice a year, the master class will have a showcase to exhibit their work for the broader Los Angeles community.
